After enjoying lunch on their own, the group resumed their exploration by embarking on a four-hour panoramic city sightseeing drive. They learned historical insights about landmark locations along the way, including stunning views of the 2,000-year-old Colosseum, which loomed large and proud against the skyline. The drive offered a unique perspective of the city, with its blend of ancient history and vibrant modern life.

As the long, exciting day drew to a close, guests gathered for a farewell dinner and wine at L'Eau Vive Restaurant, often referred to as the "best-kept secret in Rome." This elegant dining experience featured unique dishes and a welcoming atmosphere. The fine French cuisine was prepared and served by a sisterhood of Carmelite nuns from five continents, who wore traditional costumes that added to the charm of the evening. The ceilings in the upstairs rooms, built in 1513 by Pope Leo X Medici, were gorgeously frescoed, creating a beautiful backdrop for their meal.

After dinner, the group had the special opportunity to hear the nuns sing "Ave Maria of Lourdes," filling the restaurant with hauntingly beautiful melodies. Throughout the day, they had visited various sights, including the Holy Stairs, St. John Lateran, St. Paul's Outside the Walls, and many more, each contributing to a rich tapestry of memories that would stay with them long after their journey concluded. Below are some more images of the beautiful architecture and designs that the group was able to see throughout the day.

Designed by the renowned architect Gian Lorenzo Bernini, the church features magnificent statues surrounding the altar and a stunning dome that draws the eye upward.

Dedicated to San Tommaso da Villanova (Saint Thomas of Villanova), this church honors a noted preacher and ascetic known for his compassionate care for the poor. His legacy as "Father of the Poor" continues to resonate today, thanks to his generous spirit and dedication to helping those in need.

The day ended with dinner and wine at Ristorante Pagnanelli. This elegant restaurant has been a family run business since 1882. It's the finest restaurant in Castle Gandolfo with breath taking views of Lake Albano, exquisite cuisine, and rich history to provide an unforgettable dining experience. Starting at Venice Square
Our day begins at Piazza Venezia, commonly known as Venice Square. This bustling hub is dominated by the imposing Altare della Patria (Altar of the Fatherland), a monument dedicated to Victor Emmanuel II, the first king of unified Italy. The square is a perfect spot to soak in the energy of Rome. As you stand beneath the towering white marble structure, take a moment to appreciate
the architectural details and the vibrant atmosphere that surrounds you.

The Column of Emperor Trajan
A short stroll from the square leads us to the Column of Trajan, an impressive monument that celebrates the emperor’s victory in the Dacian Wars. The column is intricately carved with scenes depicting the battles and daily life of the era, spiraling up to a height of nearly 30 meters. It’s a remarkable testament to ancient Roman artistry and storytelling. Don’t forget to snap a few photos to capture the intricate details that bring this history to life.

Discovering the Markets of Trajan
Adjacent to the column are the Markets of Trajan, often considered the world’s oldest shopping mall. This ancient complex, which dates back to the early 2nd century AD, features a series of shops and administrative offices that once buzzed with commerce. Today, visitors can wander through the ruins, gaining insight into Roman urban life. The archaeological museum housed within the markets offers fascinating exhibits that provide context to the remnants of this vibrant marketplace.

Savor a classic dish like cacio e pepe or carbonara, paired with a glass of local wine. Enjoying a meal in this historic setting is a delightful way to recharge for the adventures ahead.

The Underground of St. Clemens
Post-lunch, our journey continues to the Church of St. Clemens. This unique church is a fascinating blend of layers of history, built on three levels. The underground levels reveal an early Christian basilica and even older Roman structures, including a Mithraic temple. As you descend into the dimly lit corridors, you’ll feel a sense of connection to the past, marveling at the religious and cultural shifts that have occurred over the centuries.

Concluding at the Colosseum
Our final stop is the iconic Colosseum. This architectural marvel is not just a symbol of Rome but
